Countable noun adalah kata benda yang bisa dihitung satu per satu, punya bentuk tunggal dan jamak.
Contoh lain: chair/chairs, student/students, idea/ideas, city/cities.
Uncountable noun (mass noun) adalah kata benda yang tidak dihitung satuan — ia dipandang sebagai satu massa/konsep, bukan unit terpisah. Tidak punya bentuk jamak, dan tidak bisa didahului "a/an" atau angka langsung.
